Website updates, including a candidate logo, are published

  • Ten of twelve Members of the Lunar Networks and Longview Roundtables have joined Lunar Pioneer
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY PERHAPS: Joel Raupe has begun uploading the Jinto Library to DocSTOC, under the Prospero account. The service has made possible the embedding of FLASH versions of Essential Reading and MORE ESSENTIAL READING to be posted in a far more accessible form (as in a single page at a time).
  • This is a huge advantage, because many of documents in The Collection are pretty hefty ADOBE files, especially the large documents from the 1960's, such as the Surveyor Collection. Some are are well over 100 Megabytes in size. Of the thousands of technical papers and monographs we have collected, and continue to collect, greater than 230 were uploaded to DocSTOC over the weekend of June 21. Each can be previewed, downloaded, and embedded in the form taken with single featured documents on ESSENTIAL READING and MORE ESSENTIAL reading.

To access our Growing Online Library, simply point your browser HERE. Then, in the left hand column down and below the ridiculous "profile" I've posted, select "Uploads" and you may toggle your way through each of the pdf's and PowerPoint presentations. Much more needs to be added, but this may take some time. Each existing paper or presentation needs a SEO description added, and since I will be uploading them in batches, the large files still take the necessary bandwidth to then be processed for the low-weight Flash versions to be available. Plus we are adding new documents all the time, and it is the consensus that a concentration should be on the latest additions first, and then the older writings.

Proprietary information is not being added at this time, and won't be (unless the option to make these Documents invisible to casual readers and users (mostly College students, apparently).

Roll your mouse over the document icons for a quick preview in FLASH to render in front of your eyes.

Already we've made good friends with the clever entrepreneurs who started this service, and who are on their way to storing 1,000,000 documents of every description. And one or two in the collection has already appeared high on the list of the non-advanced Google searches performed sometimes hourly.

Documents in the Jinto Library library, when last checked, had been viewed over 1,600 times in just 48 hours.

This is a wonderful service, and after a short period, it is likely we may decide to use this as the physical repository for the entire library. The drawback may be the same problems the original NAPSTER file sharing problems, so copywrited work not authorized for general public release when certain documents came into out possession will need vetting by certain parties, especially since much of the information we have is classified as "munitions" under the International Trade regulations (ITAR).
  • The documents we have from the National Research Council describing ITAR have been uploaded.

    Enjoy!
